About the Team: San Diego SeaLions was formed in 1988 to give post college players a place to play competitive soccer. The SeaLions were one of the original 6 WPSL teams, known then as Auto Trader. The SeaLions have sent at least 7 players to the WUSA. 

In 2004 San Diego WFC, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization was created to develop, and maintain a full-service soccer program, providing playing and training opportunities, coaching, instruction and learning opportunities, and offering soccer program administration opportunities, for females of all ages in under-served areas of San Diego.

San Diego SeaLions have won numerous titles including:

  • 2006 WPSL Final Four Finalist
  • 2001 Las Vegas Silver Mug Invitational Champions
  • 2000 WPSL League Champions
  • 1999 US National Champions
  • 1999 Las Vegas Silver Mug Invitational Champions
  • 1996 Las Vegas Silver Mug Invitational Champions

Type of Players: Top college players, US National Team players (youth and full team), International players, and aspiring professional players.

Local Colleges: San Diego State, Univ. of San Diego, Univ. California at San Diego. The SeaLions also draw top talent from Colleges and Universities from across the country.

Home Field: Cathderal Catholic High School's Manchester Stadium.
A multi-use stadium in Del Mar, California. Opened in 2005. The stadium is home to the CCHS Dons.

What is the WPSL?
The WPSL is an amateur, independent national league that was founded in 1998. This summer collegiate, former professional and international players are competing on 50+ WPSL teams in eight divisions. The WPSL season begins, early May and runs through late July with a league championship held the last weekend in July.
