Kirstin Radlinski gets one of Colorado's Big 12 Honors

IRVING, Texas - The University of Colorado soccer trio of Nikki Marshall, Kirstin Radlinski and Kelly Butler were named Big 12 Players of the Week for games played from Sept. 9-15, the conference office announced Tuesday.

The weekly award marked the seventh honor of Marshall's career, while Radlinski was tabbed for the second time.  This is the first time this season that CU claimed the offensive and defensive honors, while Butler became the second Buff to earn Newcomer of the Week, joining fellow freshman Kate Russell (Sept. 2).

The is the first time in program history that Colorado has swept all three of the Big 12 weekly accolades and CU is the first school since Kansas on Oct. 17, 2006 to do so.

Defensive Player of the Week

Kirstin Radlinski, Colorado, GK, Sr., Placentia, Calif.

Radlinski entered the Ole Miss game at the half on Friday, holding the Rebels scoreless while Colorado faced a 2-0 deficit. She racked up three saves in the second half to help CU to a 3-2 overtime win. Radlinski also put up a save in CU's 2-1 win at Memphis on Sunday. She is ranked third in the conference with a goals-against average of 0.63.
