SeaLion Opener Fills Manchester Stadium Friday May 21, 2010
The San Diego SeaLion 2010 WPSL season opener drew the largest crowd in recent SeaLion soccer history to Cathedral Catholic High School Friday night. The wind was blowing at Manchester Stadium, but that didn't stop the fans from coming out in droves to support their squad. While the team fell a bit short on the pitch, off the field they were a tremendous success.
It was not for a lack of cheering that the SeaLions fell 0-3 to SD United Friday night. The team was very competitive, but failed to convert several scoring opportunities. United forward, Stephanie Ochs, tallied at three goals to get the win. The SeaLions return to action on Sunday against Ajax America Women in Los Angeles.
