San Diego finally took advantage of a Rooks defense, which had given up nine goals in their season opener, in the 38th minute on a goal by Alex Fuller. Seven minutes later after Briana Duckworth was pulled down in the box; Mabel Coba put away the penalty kick to extend the SeaLions lead to 2-0 before the half.

The second half was more of the same, as San Diego controlled the flow of play and scored three goals, the biggest output of goals in a single half this season. Laura Linehan, Sarah Devine and Fay DeLeon added the three markers to provide the final touches to a complete team effort in the win.
