SeaLions Face Off in Round of 16

On Saturday, November 20th at 6:00 p.m., UC Irvine, home to four San Diego SeaLions, will host SeaLion forward Alex Webber, former SeaLion Jane Mitchell, and the Washington Huskies in the NCAA Round of 16 at Anteater Stadium.
The Huskies upset the No. 2 overall seed, Portland, 10-9 in penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie in regulation and two overtime periods last Sunday, while UCI blanked Wake Forest 2-0 to advance to the third round.
The UCI Anteaters are 19-2-2 overall (11-2 at home) and earned an at-large berth to this year's tournament after going 8-0 in the Big West, winning their first-ever title and earning the school's first-ever NCAA Tournament bid in the sport. The Third Round is the furthest a Big West team has ever gone and the 19 wins by UCI is also the most by a Big West school. Washington enters Saturday's game with an overall record of 12-8-2. Coach Lesle Gallimore's Huskies are making the program's third trip to the Sweet 16 and the first since 2004.
