SEALIONS AND RED BULL TO HOST STREET TOURNAMENT IN OLD OWN ON CINCO DE MAYO

The SeaLions have partnered with Red Bull to host the 2nd Annual Red Bull Fiesta De Futbol invitational soccer tournament. This year’s event will be a 3v3 format and will be featured as part of Old Town’s 29th Annual Fiesta Old Town Cinco De Mayo Festival on Saturday, May 5. The free, three-day festival is the largest event of its kind in Southern California, and includes an incredible variety of festivities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. The 3v3 tournament will take place on San Diego Avenue between Harney and Twiggs Street from 11:00AM to 9:00PM, and will feature San Diego’s top soccer talent, with amateur men’s, women’s, and coed teams represented as well. Registration is FREE and closes on April 25, 2012. All interested teams should email amie@sealionsoccer.com.
The San Diego SeaLions, along with the San Diego Fusion will represent San Diego in the women’s and men’s premier divisions respectively. The SeaLions have invited several other teams in the WPSL’s Pac-South division to compete against them in the tournament. Fans will be able to preview some of this season’s competition, and get autographs from their favorite players prior to the start of the 2012 WPSL season, which begins in late May.
On Sunday, the action continues with a youth street tournament and clinic hosted by Kick for Hope. Teams interested in competing should visit kickforhope.org for registration information.
